Just read you’re signing Wesley Bruines from Saints as well, who is a young centre. I can’t help wonder if the King return might not be as set as it first seemed, given the amount of centres signed, already on the books and ones still being linked.

King's return does look unlikely doesn't it. You've got Tai and him and are linked with Morgan Harper.

Bruines' signing seems a strange one. He will be one Sam Burgess is aware of from his time with Souths development squad, but it's hard to see where he'll fit in. You seem to potentially be in a position where you have five centres for next year and you also have a more than decent prospect or two in the academy as well who will be pushing through as well.

Odd signing. Hopefully just a squad filler on low wages but as Saddened alludes to shouldn’t these positions be filled by our youngsters? Academy watchers will know better but I presume Lindop is a year or two away?

Lindop is only 17 I think, Darbyshire 19 maybe, so they a little way off yet.

The same question of course could have been asked about Saints last year when they signed him (he's not a Saints youth player).

Ive seen Bruines on dual reg at Crusaders a couple of times this year. Tall, good defender but hangs onto the ball instead of letting it go too often.
Nowhere near the quality of Wrench imo.

I've never seen him play, but the feedback from those who watch the reserves and academy is the opposite. They say it's his defending that is holding him back. There must be some potential there as Souths wanted to keep him, Saints wanted to sign him and now Burgess has obviously wanted to get him too.

Can’t we pay for 2 weeks in Orlando for Gleeson,then sort him a good contract here rather than some wannabe Yawnion team in the US taking him.
