Excellent in that second half.

1st half you could tell he had not been involved in 1st team SL action for a while, he looked scared stiff, and slow.

2nd half, different player - excellent IMO

Wigan board full of anti mathers and higham jibes.... until 6.53pm that is!!!

Really thought he was quality tonight especially second half.

Not getting carried away with him but looks like a good signing

Also during the game he was constantly motivating the team and after the hooter he was really celebrating the win, nice one Mathers keep it up

Yep, the second half performance was very impressive from him. Gives us an extra outlet and extra pair of hands from the 1 spot. His kick return were good as well, thankfully the kicks were all down his throat second half.

Very impressed with Mathers.Bridge, and Grix. Also impressed with the way that we kept at it, despite not playing very well. Two months ago this game would have been given up after 60 minutes. Good win.

Nobody likes a Smart Fart, I know, and I hate to give it the old 'I told you so', but when I quoted Wayne Bennet's "Short term loss for a long term gain" when the deal went through, a few on here scoffed.
