i have no desire to watch you perform on dragons den but through your posts you personify all that is wrong with a conservative mindset,it's all me,me ,me,greed and a general arrogance to those who may not be as fortunate or rich as you.
as for borrowing from tomorrow to pay for today, how about looking at the legacy of what 20 years of tory rule has done to this country on the whole,on second thoughts don't bother as you are only interested in yourself.

Why did you find the need to be insulting in your reply? You don't know me at all. People who do know me om this forum will vouch that the way you depict me is far from the truth. I am a great believer in egalitarian values, small state and the empowerment of the invididual to succeed, through their own efforts, no matter what background.

The unions had become ridiculous and were bringing this country to it's knees.
If the Tories had a leader like Thatcher now then i would strongly consider voting Tory. She did this country a huge favour by strong leadership and not listening to the populist media and bullying unions.

Labour are a weak government
The Tories are with Cameron in charge, to quote Barack Obama "lightweight"
The lib dems are a party with no direction and way too much infighting to be given any credible time has a party running a country

I read both Owen and Sassoon at University. I'm aware of the horrors of the First World War. All of the above is very interesting but it is irrelevant to the point I made. It was a simple one and still stands.

People died in wars, specifically WW2, to protect people's freedoms, including, their right to vote. On the basis that some people did that, all I said was that I don't think it's that big a deal for people to go out and exercise that right. Particularly when they can do it by post.

The Nazis may well have been democratically elected, however I still don't think that detracts from the point I was making.

Ian I do totally agree with you up to the point where we believe WWII was about protecting the right to vote. It was more complicated. Our Government at the time had only given the vote to women under 30 just 11 years before the start of WWII. It's hardly a ringing endorsement of our (British) committment to people's freedoms.

Anyway I agree, people should vote or not complain about the Government.

if you found my post insulting then you must be a bit of a sensitive soul, you may be a decent chap but i'm afraid you do come across in the way i depicted you.i respect anyones political views but a little bit of humility goes a long way it's not all about success no matter what background people come from.

I suggest you put on your "Young Conservatives" regalia and go and debate this point with the good people of Featherstone prior to our cup game.

Also rather interesting to see how far this country has come in the last two decades when looking at the public outcry at the "heavy-handed" policing of the recent G8 (?) protests in London to the conduct of police under Thatcher's instruction.

To be straight with you, i have found you in other threads slightly arrogant. You are one of the posters who actually insult people in such a way that the less educated wouldn't even realise that they have just been insulted.
A lot of your posts are well thought out, sometimes thought provoking and i do enjoy your posts but i have myself been on the end of your acid tongue,
which didn't go over my head but i felt i would not dignify it with a response.

Wires71 you are with no doubt one of the more intellectual posters but why does that mean that sometimes you have to be so condescending with it.
Feel free to respond but i don't want to turn this into a slanging match just putting my cards on the table

I think this should be locked now.

Petty political arguments and debates have no right to be on a RL Fans forum.
