Brilliant, gladatorial battle but we're still talking about the officials - tells you everything.

But lets face it we were up against it with the gaps in the forwards and even the weather conspired to make it attritonal and suit their bigger men.

Heads should be held high. We need troops back quickly but I still fancy us to do Saints.

100% this.

Its a tough one though really, calls were correct we would have won, but Wigan absolutely deserved the win. They were the better side tonight. This should have been one of those occasions where the best team lost though.

We made far too many errors. Made nowhere near enough ground, completed far too low and played the game in our own half. We should have been battered, but credit to the team we weren't.

Expect another wire defeat.

They've been "taking it easy" ever since they won the WCC then, cos they've been garbage.

To be honest, I’m glad the 8/8 thing is now over, because I’ve a feeling that was adding pressure and almost every interview it was brought up.
Now we don’t have that to hinder.

We have been beaten in the forwards, we need some bodies back. It would be a worry if we were at or near full strength. As it stands we had a 2 prop pack and were asking far too much of them. We have lost by 7 points and won by 6 points despite not being the best side against 2 sides which will definitely feature at the business end of the season. I'm optimistic after the last 2 matches personally. We need bullock fit, we need dudson with his head on it m, we need philbin, harrison and we need to replace mikale.

I thought we were well covered in the front row this season but I think we need another in to replace mikale, we need a big unit as well IMO.

Powell hit the nail on the head. We had a lesson in wet weather rugby.

7 point loss with a dubious Wigan try awarded by the video ref and 2 disallowed tries from the video ref that are controversial in being disallowed.
Up against it for 73 minutes of 80 minutes.
Yes. We look a little light in the forwards. But it could so easily of been a win. It had to come to a end at some point. Its just a bit bitter in how the run came to a end. Onwards and upwards. Let's dust ourselves off and bring on next week.

As the duck says packs win games backs decide by how much there’s nothing more evident than what we saw tonight. Let’s stop over reacting.

Mikaele is a big loss mate.

I hope the club haven’t spunked his salary on George and Paul.

This is a fair summary I think. Plus we had some poor individual performances and silly errors. I don't see a win against Saints away but hopefully after the international break we can get back on the horse.
