Let's hope it happens. We flogged the likes of Vaughan, Harrison & Clark (and the second rows) early on in the year when they were badly in need of a rest.

Funny that. When I pointed out that inevitability when Mikaele left and I suggested getting a replacement in as a priority, I was told by everyone that I was wrong and we would be fine.

Almost like I know what I'm on about?....

You was wrong at the time. We had Vaughan, Dudson, Kasiano, Harrison, Philbin, McGuire and Bullock then.

The problem was that these 7 middles were never ever available at the same time.
Some matches we clearly didn't have enough. Apart from Vaughan they all have been injured/suspended at various times. Losing Nicholson also meant one of them covered him.
At the start of the year we had obviously put our eggs in the "big forwards" basket & it worked.

I have to admit that I initially thought there was no rush to replace Mikeale and we should bide our time to get the right player.
At the start of the season we were missing Philbin for the first 5/6 games recovering from injury, Dudson for the first 3/4 games after his sending off in his last game against Catalan and McGuire so I thought we would be ok.

With hindsight we could have done a bit more during that 8 game run to give Thomas and Green a bit more exposure. I might be wrong but I am sure there were comfortable wins when we could have given them some more game time.

I have to admit that I have changed my tune in that losing Mikeale was a big loss compounded by the McGuire fiasco and I also think we miss Nicholson a bit more than we realise.

Hopefully, if the above rumours are true then we have some cavalry on its way.

Hopefully ,we get the early 2023 version of Big Tom if he returns & not the 2022 version.
