Whilst it's all about opinions, yours is a bit harsh in mine.

I've never heard him deny his roots, he's a good broadcaster on a national level and there are only so many times the, "I remember pulling wheelies up and down Poplars..." story will keep a wider audience enthralled.

Although from Newton le Willows, I believe Colin Welland (Kes, Charriots of Fire) was a big Wire.
