That's nearly as far from London as Warrington is, so where does the nickname Cockney come from?

Seen as this thread is for chat also, did anybody watch the apprentice last night

I lived in Northampton for 5 years, came back with a hint of a Southern accent. Someone called me a Cockney and the name stuck.

Do you think that our forum members bicker and fight more than any other members? It does depress me at times.

Whatever the story is, one thing sticks and that is the fact he is not a born and bred Wire.

Neither is Geordie, but he bangs his drum with the same enthusiasm.

We probably do more than most on this forum but definitely not on forums in general, some of the Rugby Union and Football forums are much worst but it's what makes the world go around and pass the time of day with a bit or humour, just don't take anything that seriously.

Whilst not defending the post it does appear that where you are born/live is an issue to some when considering levels of support. You only need to hear the whinging scousers complain about the alleged Man U fan base.

Technically Geordie should support Gateshead Thunder.



As for Cockney, im not sure where his roots are so i cant suggest a team for him to support.



Also, I think that if you are born and bred you have that little bit more passion.



Im not suggesting Geordie or Cockneys passion is lacking, far from it. I just think it makes a difference.
