I'd like to see the match again to see why King is being criticized. Last week - rightly so. This week - he did what a winger does - scored a try and took the ball up on occassion to help out the forwards.
Arguably he got caught out by a couple of chip kicks, but Riley covered.
Nothing outstanding by don't think he deserves the wrath of many for last night.
Yeah, I agree he wasn't terrible last night, but we shouldn't be talking in these terms for a so called World Class player. We should be talking about the brilliant things he did, not just the fact that he made some decent drives. Anyone in our squad could have taken his try.
I prefer Bridge at centre rather than Penny but in attack King did nothing wrong when he eventually got the ball that is, good go forward and scored a try. He drifted in to far in the second half and was punished, he also gave up half way when chasing a kick down field, having said that i don't think we missed Penny in attack or defense and he wouldn't have changed anything if he was playing.
[Chorus]
Does he offload?Never offloads
Does he tackle? No, he never tackles
Does he score tries?Never score tries
He does nothing Matt King does nothing

gidley at saints is a top quality centre, king is supposed to be a step above that.which player has the fans talkin after every game, and i mean on a positive note?
King may be world class in a system that suits him - but overall he's been a major disappointment for us so far considering he was meant to be one of the best 3 centres in the world when he joined us.
Not seen much of his Aussie matches to comment on how good his defence was then.

King isn't in the same galaxy as Gidley. They have the same first name and job. Other than that, and the fact they are white males, the similarities end.

Penny wouldn't, as king wouldn't have loving passed it to him.
