Owners waving their chequebooks around is something this sport is desperate for. There’s no money circulating around the clubs in this sport. There’s this poisonous way of clubs allowing players to run their contracts down and then jumping to another club with no transfer fee which halts money flowing from one club to another. It’s a reason why this sport is on its booty.
