The problem for Kev for me is that all the qualities he had that made him shine, we now have anyway, as they are a given under Smith. I used to love his enthusiasm, his desire, his passion, his pace. Without all that, you're just left with deficiencies.
At Wakefield, he'll be a breath of fresh air. Their fans will adore him, he'll chase everything, catch tonnes, miss some, clap, beat his chest, run very, very fast. He's all action, good & bad and it'll be great for Kear to stand back and say to the rest of them "look, this is what I want", he might not do everything right, but he'll do everything with everything he's got.
It makes Wakefield watchable again on TV anyhow, thank god.
It's upto Kev to shine now, and shine like a beacon. I hope he proves everyone wrong, like an Atkins who now makes Bradford's decision to let him go look ridiculous. There's plenty kicking around in SL, look at Jodie Broughton, not good enough for Leeds, he's made a good career move for him and his stock has risen, Penny should look at the likes of him and see that you can bounce back.
