We're the first ones to starve, we're the first ones to die
The first ones in line for that pie-in-the-sky
And we're always the last when the cream is shared out
For the worker is working when the fat cat's about

Cracking turnout today, easily outnumbered the Crusaders fans, as we did at Bridgend last year too.

On a sour note, I was disappointed to hear the growing chavvy kid element of our away following chanting all the way through the Welsh national anthem. It's not on, kids, basic manners says shut the fack up for 2 minutes and show some respect. Same goes with the 'let him die, let him die' chants, leave it out.

Apart from that, a good day out at a new ground.

Agree here. Idiots booing, chanting Ingerlund and singing GSTQ. Totally embarrassing tbh, especially considering that for most of the idiots involved, that was their main vocal contribution for the day. It's a sad day when Ingerlund gets a better rendition than 'Warr-ing-ton'.

Great to see such a good turnout though.

This 'group' seem more than happy to just sing along with the drummer boy to anything, anytime regardless of appropriateness, anyone else joining in or relevance.
They don't represent me or my kids which is why I moved well out of the way after 20 minutes and I think I now understand why many others have moved in the South stand and why Geordie packed in !
Rant over

I also agree with this. They were banging the drum and singing stupid songs over an hour before kick off. From what I can gather, and I might be wrong, but I think that they go to Warrington Town games and try to inject some (sic) atmosphere there. The morninc disrespect of tge Welsh national anthem seemed to begin and carry more momentum on my right hand side, which is where they were and I'm pretty sure the drum was banging along to the Ingerlund noise.

FORZA WIRE

Re: Turnout today : Sun Jul 04, 2010 8:57 pm
Hearing Warrington fans sing God Save The Queen was the low point of Wembley last year.

Hearing it today would have outright killed me. Glad I didn't go.

Re: Turnout today : Sun Jul 04, 2010 9:45 pm
There are at least 2 different drummers, each with their own group. One group I know are far too young to drink beer and deffo go to WTFC games. The group near me today in the Yale stand (upper, aprox' level with the 20 metre line) were 20ish and drinking. They were the ones who, imo didn't really care about the game/team/club/fans/ or anything else as long as they were chanting. I don't know if they go to Town games.
