Didn't William Webb Ellis pick up the ball and run, someone should really tell Rugby Union.

I'll never criticise somebody for missing a shot at goal under those circumstances. I will criticise Chris Hicks though, he's abysmal at fullback. He takes ages to field general kicks in play, then doesn't beat a man running the ball back lethargicly. He doesn't support the ball carrier from there whatsoever neither.

His performance levels are very different dependant on whether he's on the wing or at fullback. He looks vastly improved from the wing, not just his try scoring exploits, but he looks far happier collecting the ball at acting half etc.

We need Riley or Mathers fit asap.

My only issue with Hicks, is his choice of returning the kick. He always goes straight at he defender, no step, no fend whatsoever. Really can't understand it.

As far as I recall the goal kicking went to Hicks as Briers couldn't kick for toffee

We've lost a game have we? Player-bashing coming out already. Only had a new coach for a few weeks and we're already at it

It just baffles me that three coaches have played him there, and nobody seems to have noticed how crap he is there. I'd play Chris Murphy from the 21's there, I know your exposing a kid, and the conditions yesterday weren't the best to put a young lad under that pressure given the nerves etc allied with the poor conditions perhaps yesterday it was best that Hicks played, but I don't think Hicks performs well from fullback, hopefully Riley will be fit soon & problem solved.

I think they must judging his suitability on the average Warrington fans judgment on how well they deal with high kicks.

Yeah I think Smith needs to make a signing, somebody who can play fullback. I wonder if he knows any Super League fullbacks who could fit the bill.

This wasn't the reason we lost the game.

Question.

Was you there at Hull last year when Hicks kicked a goal in a similar position at the same time in the game to win us the match.

It's called pressure, sometimes people can handle it and sometimes they cant and to answer your question of "What has he done this season" he's our top try scorer so far this year.

i know

What's the Wire fans goal this season
Lets pick on our biggest attacking threat and lower his confidence

Next weeks threads :-
Westwood can't drive a ball for sh--.
Briers should be in the pack.
Matt King was defo man of the match.
Sack Tony Smith.
Rauhihi's cabbage soup diet.
Kevin Pennys try saving tackle.
Why can't we be more like Widnes.

sometimes some of you guys get me down more than Wire ever could

Didn't go to the match but I've really come to the conclusion that our biggest problem is the 10% of fans who like nothing better than to criticise and berate players.

Hicks was our player of the year last year.
He has been very consistent this year - even when not playing in his preferred position.

So - he missed a slot at goal.
He's saved us far more times than he's let us down.

The club - and more importantly the players - need to know the fans are supporting them. Give them stick when it's due but it's not due every game.
