Game changer, for me: at 16-18 Wigan were on top but in two sets in a row Matty Smith kicked the ball out for a scrum deep in Hull's half. All the crowd clapped, all Smith's team mates slapped him on the back and rubbed his head, the commentators said "brilliant kick"...but what it did was give Hull two little rests in two minutes and slowed the momentum of Wigan's game down. Hull got a second wind from that, kicked on and won.
Everyone still thinks kicking the ball out for a scrum deep in the opposition half is a good kick though, when it's probably worse than kicking it out at the back for a 20m restart as teams actually get a rest and can regroup.
