Leeds do a bring you mate to a match for free for season ticket holders for the poorer attended matches (although i may have made this fact up). Sounds like a good idea to me.
I was going to post that, Leeds season ticket holders can take a guest to one game during the season. I don't know about any restrictions on which game although my mum's husband is a season ticket holder at Leeds so I can ask him. It's a good idea though.
I wasn't aware 'babes in arms' were free, as far as I knew (info from a Wire fan with a 2-year-old) you have to pay concession price for a seat for H&S reasons. If babies do get in free that's great but the stadium doesn't allow pushchairs or car seats in the stadium.
There definately should be more promotion and free tickets with the local school kids, RL is a big sport in this town and it's not promoted nearly enough. Just being aware of the sport isn't enough. Kids go home asking their parents if they can go to the match at the weekend the answer is usually 'no', especially in these credit-crunch times. However if kids go home asking with a couple of free tickets, that makes all the difference. People love feeling like they're getting something for nothing, even if it they end up having to pay in the end.
Merch-wise the shop could definately improve to allow supporters to do their own promoting. The afore-mentioned window stickers are a good idea as are an increased clothing range for women and children.
The club trying to get their mechandise into more shops is a good idea too. Asda in town has a good range of what the store stock and it opens up visibility of the club to people who wouldn't necessarily go to the club shop. Also it would be useful if other outlets sold match-day tickets and therefore promoted the games.
