Re: Smith Out : Tue May 02, 2017 8:11 am
Taking the Brisbane game out and looking at all the others what we do well is running the ball out of defence, which we do strongly. The problems start when we are in attack, it is clear that there are no consistent lines being run by any position, too many players stood around not wanting to get involved, relatively no chase to the kicks which are getting higher, shorter and on top of defenders.

TS regularly states that "we've had a great week in training", well if they are training so well and to the plan, the team are then carrying out the coaches game plan, then what we are watching is the demise of our SL status.

Given that training is going so well week in and week out, on the field the team must be following a different game plan to that laid out by the coaching team from the weeks training, if this is correct then the team are doing it their way on the pitch with disregard for the coaching team.

Either way TS is a fault, sad to say but the end is nigh for the current regime :SHOOT:

A royal hammering by Salford may be a bit awkward for Smith, especially if the crowd turn.

"It's the refs fault again". Biggest moaning whingers in RL.

Re: Smith Out : Sat May 27, 2017 12:04 am
I know Warrington fans tell anyone who'll listen every season is going to be the 'year of the wolf' regarding you lot being Super League Champions, hence the birth of that 'its always your year' chant everyone sings at you, but it was always unlikely to happen this season.

Give Tony Smith a break. He's a proven, quality coach who has taken you to glories you'd not seen in many a year and will build a side to challenge the top sides again.

With all due respect, Wire are hardly a Wigan, a St Helens or a Leeds where standards are sky high. Given what he's done in the past, he will surely deliver success again given time.

The whingers, moaners and cry-arsers take note.

I think ,in all honesty, the "always our year" tag is more an obsession of the fans of other ,lesser clubs than the Wire faithful.

You're spot on there- with the amount of investment we've put in to our squad compared to the relative pitance put into the teams mentioned above, over the past 10 or so years, we should expect a lot more more.

That didn't come from Warrington fans saying that it's our year, it actually comes from Sky who were always saying it.

Our standards should be sky high with the amount of money spent on and off the pitch.

At Leeds and Warrington Smith has had the most success when he's had squads that he hasn't built.

Re: Smith Out : Sat May 27, 2017 8:10 am
Well I suspect we have reached a turning point and that the next game against Salford is crucial. Either the team responds to ( what sounded like ) another very poor display, or we lose comprehensively and end up in the bottom four. Despite the obvious problems at specific positions, there is still enough quality in that team ( 4 England internationals ?) to finish high up in the table. Knowing the reason we are bottom fishing is something all of us would love to know.

A question the board should ask themselves. Do they trust Smith in the upcoming recruitment period? I know i wouldn't
