The more I hear this rubbish the more I respect Shaun Wane and His non acceptance of "ordinary" standards from his Rugby team no matter who pulls on the Jersey.

As Wire fans we've laughed at Wane for Years called him at sorts and he just keeps pushing his teams on and winning trophies.. the big ones as well.... they're in a different league to us ...almost Literally

Castleford just provided a pretty sound arguement. Wigan fans won't be happy tonight either, at least they haven more good days than bad though.

The difference in approach is stark between Smith and Wane. Just look at the post match press conferences.

Both teams have had heavy defeats our chap is saying there is not much between top and bottom, never criticising the players, trying to explain it away.

"It’s a tough place to go just after Easter" (Excuse. We have previously won 9/10)

"I’m not sure about the disallowed try" (Excuse)

"If you are a bit off you get beaten" (We are far more than a bit off - lack of honesty)

Wane on the other hand simply calls the Wigan performance unacceptable.

That was unacceptable .... there’s no excuses, they were the best team. (Honesty)

“It wasn’t us to get beat like that .... so we’ll bring some youngsters in and we’ll show some fire next week. (Going to drop some players)

Wigan teams shouldn’t get pumped like that ... and we got absolutely schooled" (Club Expectations)

“They travelled over in good numbers and we owe them that same commitment, we know that.” (Respecting the fans)

Do you really think "sound bites" reflect the philosophy of the coach?
If TS said on a weekly basis "we wuz rubbish" etc would you have more patience with him?
As a happy clapper I actually believe he is right about small margins, just look at results across the league over the course of this season.

Of course he wouldn't, he'd just find something else to moan about.

Like you moan about Patton ?

Bang average.

There was no moan in my post, just your follow up moan about me. I suggest you try and deal with the facts when debating, spares blushes.

I'd probably have more patience if we had made the last 4 GF's on the bounce, winning 2 of them.

If this is not reflective of philosophy do you think that Wane is all soft and touchy feely behind closed doors then? Or Smith tears a strip off them on the team bus back from Hull?

If that try had been awarded things could have turned out different. We gained momentum after that. IMO when you get Clarke back you won't be far off. You also missed westy. Underatted player imo
