It all seems to stem to the issue of a straight swap of contracts. Wardle 1 v King 3. I would guess that the argument from Wire is that a fee would be required for the remaining 2 seasons of King’s contract, and someone at Hudds doesn’t think there ought to be a fee. Rather than waste time stalling while having to get Kings contract off the cap, t seems Wire have taken the offer of the Pies. |

Admittedly it’s been a while since I was told Wardle had signed for Wigan at about the same time as Bibby signed for Huddersfield just before the last England fixture.
I thought the whole King move which came a bit out of the blue could have affected it, but I don’t think it has and I still expect him to be playing for Wigan in 23.

I heard that Wigan thought they had signed Wardle including the end of this year on loan. When they phoned Huddersfield up to sort the deal out they were told he had already signed the loan deal with Warrington.
You’ll probably know better than me as you seem convinced he’s signed for Wigan. |
