Unless Philbin has been working on that side of his game. Hopefully he has, but I think he’s more the battering ram rather than the player who can do both, ie Kasiano, McGuire.

Thought the Leigh 13 looked good in that role on Fri.

If we have a fully fit pack I think Philbin would struggle to get a place, fortunately that is not likely to happen too often. But he does add depth to the squad and allows Powell to rotate his big men. When we get towards the end of the season having seasoned players like Philbin around could be crucial in the knock out stages.

I see Wellens has had another whinge too. It's funny that they're rattled but history shows they will eventually intimidate the refs into chucking a few decisions their way when it really matters.
