No they didn't. Widnes had 7 missing and we had 9. By my maths that is two more but of course you could be right and 7 is more than 9!

I know Myler got man of the match but his kicking game was awful, it just gave Widnes some easy posession. He did some good passes but he threw out a lot of ropey ones as well.[/quote]

You sound like the guy behind me blaming myler for every kick and missed tackle. Even though half of the time it was just O'brian. Its just he couldnt tell the difference between them. :WALL: :WALL:

As I said, not knocking the lad, he needs to develop a bit more.

Flipping heck mate, the lad is only 17 FFS. How many other players can play a full 80 mins of SL at that age?

With another preseason and a bit more bulk I suspect Currie will be pushing for the first 17 every week. He has immense promise but I agree with the original poster that he did get pushed back in the tackle a lot but to his credit he didn't let go of many.

I thought that when O'Brien got the ball in his hands he looked class, with that extra half a second that the top players seem to have. The trouble was that he only got the ball in his hands a few times and I spent a lot of time looking to see whether he was still out there.

O'Brien's pass around the defender that set Bridge away ( before his forward pass to Monas ) was the single finest moment of skill in the entire game. Sheer class.

Re: Positives from tonight : Fri Apr 06, 2012 11:04 am
Plenty of positives last night. There were far fewer daft errors and our completion rate seemed much better. I haven't watched it back on Sky yet, but I'd be interested to see if they gave the percentage out and how much it had improved. It was noticeable that Carvell and Wood in particular seemed to be trying to cut out the stupid offloads.

It was a really encouraging game from the youngsters as well. Dwyer looked a handful and showed great vision for his kick through, Chris Hill was one of our best forwards again, Currie looked a hell of a prospect for such a young lad and O'Brien showed glimpses of his class.

The defence in the first ten minutes was a bit of a concern, but considering how many changes there were from last week, I'm not surprised they didn't gel straight away.
