Are we assuming then that King will not sign an extension to his contract?

Also, if the injury is as bad as we fear, Could this be the end of Matt's career?

It could certainly be the end of his Wire career.

I can't see Warrington offering him another contract after this season especially if it goes well with joel and he extends his I would imagine the quota would be filled with a half back considering the age of Briers and Myler having not proved himself yet.

As Emo Philips said "You don't appreciate a lot of stuff in school until you get older. Little things like being spanked every day by a middle-aged woman: Stuff you pay good money for in later life.

Lets hope for the best for Matt's sake. A really effective player for us and a truly top bloke. I hope he's back as soon as possible. Good luck with it Matt.

In the worse case scenario lets say we have to release Matt King due to injury, i presume the insurance would cover any pay off and it wouldn`t count against the salary cap.

We would then need to find a replacement centre with experience, ideally SL experience. I think i have a possible soloution.

Leigh owe us a favour or two due to us helping them out with dual registered players, what about Stuart Littler as a replacement for Matt King ? It would be hard to find experienced players so late in the day, this could solve our problem.

We have better options at the club than needing to bring in Littler who wasn't good enough for Salford!!!

Let's hope for good news for Kingy though!!!

no offence rob but can we not start talking about replacing arguably our best player while he's still wrapped up in bandages probably in agony?!

Littler's not a bad idea Rob but I think we should also be looking at his centre partner at Leigh: Mick Nanyn. He has the size to replace King.

Nobody is suggesting we replace anyone with anyone lol .... We all wish Matt King the best of health and a speedy recovery.

Its light hearted humour in the face of adversity, always look on the bright side of life and all that.

As if anyone would take a post seriously that suggests we replace Matt King with Stuart Littler  ..... As Paul suggests, Mick Nanyn maybe

There is one problem with Mick Nanyn, It's called his heart or his actual lack of it when it comes to the big boy's league.
