A sad state of affairs for our academy and scouting setup that we have to sign Gelling.

When you look at Saints and Wigan's backline and the players that come through their academy it really does hit home how poor we are in that regard.

In terms of props, Salfords starting props this year have been Gil Dudson & Lee Mossop - one had the silliest moustache in RL history and the other was written off as injury plagued and finished.

Yet neither have done too bad.

Maybe they are getting better coaching, better conditioning, are utilised better or are better motivated because people like me have a laugh at them.

Fingers crossed matey, i've said before i'm not a huge fan but i'll wait to see what he can do for us before i make a final Judgement

I rate Dudson always have, he's a big lad who hits hard and puts in a graft, similar to Ashton Sims. Not a wrecking machine but a solid grafter who puts in the hard Work, i wish we'd have kept sims

I hope he will do himself justice in the P&B, but his quote of "I'm hoping to come in as the big saviour; hopefully we will do it next year and break the curse" sets himself up for a fall before he's pulled a shirt on.

I almost posted that but then had a senior moment and couldn’t remember which way round the transfer was!
