It’s better than what we have, I still wonder if going back to a simple penalty would be better. If you’re attacking 10m out with 2 mins to go and you are 1pt down, the rule still encourages the defending team to slow the play the ball down with little consequence.
Either scrap the 6 again rule or make it mean 6 more tackles on top of the existing remaining count (having to defend 10, 11 or 12 tackles would put a stop to the cynical lying-on at the beginning of sets.
Just watched game again & the last ten minutes was impressive. The Ashton try was a cracker. Slowish ball, Clark (two dummy runners), Drinkwater, Williams (huge dummy run from Curry), Dufty, Ratchford cracking quick pass to Ashton. Worth watching. Bullock did some very decent stuff. Watched on Wire TV which had commentary for the first time.
