Grounding of first try fine, but there was a player offside - definite no try.
Drinkwater try, Vaughan knock on - no try.
Minikin try all day long.

No try/try should’ve been scrapped ages ago.

Some people clearly need to learn the rules of the game you are watching.

1: the O’Neil try. The interpretation of the rules is there has to be no separation between hand and ball until it is grounded. The replay showed that clearly.

2: The drinkwater no try. Vaughan knocked the ball forward onto the defender.

3: The Minkin no try. These ones frustrate me. It was the correct call because the ref sends it up as a no try and the VR can’t prove otherwise. There was definitely some movement in the ball. If the ref sends it up as a try the VR gives it. The call was correct under the current rules, I don’t agree with the rules but that’s a different argument.
1. He grounded it fine. However, he was that far offside he may as well been ordering an overpriced Guiness in the East Stand concourse.

The best team on the night won.
We didn't help ourselves with errors/pens.
The standard of video ref calls was poor.
We should not have had 2 backs on the bench.
We're missing forwards.
Wigan got 2 points for winning (& the Locker Cup)
We're top of SL after almost getting relegated last year.
The GF is in October....it's only April now.
Lessons learned & no need to panic.

O'Neill is level with French's back foot when he kicks. Like most humans, French kicked with the foot that was in front.

It doesn’t make us a bad team and hasn’t lost us anything.
We we’re out muscled by the Wigan pack and it showed.
We had a poor kick game off the back of that…to be honest Drinkwater was anonymous and when he did play some, he stank the place out.
Williams had his poorest kicking game too. Williams is a short game kicker, but because our forwards were 2nd best, he wasn’t kicking short.
Harry Smith was sensational.

That’s it really. We go again next week.

Spot on mate, somebody talking sense. The best team won and the score line doesn’t reflect Wigan’s dominance. Drinkwater is a lightweight, Williams needs a dominant pack. Wires back line is too lightweight in such conditions.

Wigan had the better forwards. Kasiano may as well have impact sub tattooed on his forehead. Why are we starting him? Should have been Minkin at centre, Mata’utia at 13, McGuire at prop.
Kasiano on the bench with Clark, Whitehead/Thomas and Green.

Are you saying Powell is clueless?

Absolutely. Beat me to it.

We were munched for position by a better pack, and a quality kicking game from Harry Smith.

Looking ahead, despite only a 7 points loss against Wigan with only 1 prop out, and nobody else to come in, they are pretty much where they are, Wigan won’t get much better than that…
Whereas Wire have got another 3/4 gears to come back yet.
Harrison Bullock Dudson Philbin.

Who out of the 2 coaches with feel most comfortable about the coming weeks?

You are now talking rubbish. We have some outstanding backs to come back into the squad who will improve us. I wouldn’t worry too much about your pack it is your backs that are lightweight, if Williams gets injured you are in trouble.

Simple question. Do you think O'Neil, not even taking into account the offside, had more control over the ball for his try than Minikin had for his no-try?

Both were tries in my view. Wigan were also the better side by a country mile.

If the calls were in our favour and not yours you'd probably be taking it worse than we are, because you definitely deserved to win. You watch them again, ask yourself honestly if you'd be happy if that was us scoring against you or you having a try disallowed at tbe death. It was a night of fine margins, although when looking at all the stats, you lot should have blown us out of the water.

On a dry patch we would have blown you away tonight.
