First heard the Cronk rumour about 4 games into the current season, that he had been lined up for next year because of Lee's retirement. Heard it again around the time they announced Simms on the back of "two signings from down-under". Heard it again Thursday night ....................... Hmmmmmmm funny how these rumours seem to resurface around the HJ when SKY are in town !

A HUGE name like this on the face of it would seem unlikely BUT inconjunction with the fact that we appear to need a half-back and we havent been "linked" with anybody else and we have cap space.

We definitely have a large hole in the overseas quota with Waterhouse, MMonas and (hopefully) Asotasi leaving the club at the end of the year.

A big enough hole to secure Sims AND a top quality NRL HB like Cronk? Possibly. Sims will probably just take Asotasi's wage leaving Monas' and Waterhouse's wages.

I don't know what Asotasi, Waterhouse & M.Monas are on but we'd have to offload Joel as well and have a bucket collection in Golden Square to get Cronk or any other top-notch NRL half-back over. Dream On.

And, to be honest, I don't want one. When was the last current Australian international NRL star who signed for ANY English club and justified his reputation, price, earnings and upheaval in the squad.

I believe that is what we'll end up with. Or a reliable but not world class HB. If I recall, the announcement is rumoured to be Monday.
