Interesting,

just out of question(based on you saying that you gave your season ticket up) how many games have you actually watched over the last two years, on tv ?

Not a pissing contest, just interested on what you're basing that above opinion on.

Not sure. I've watched all the games on TV and a number of live games too including the CC semi. I also use the SL stats and RL press to gain an insight.

So are you saying that I have missed the games where they have been knockout?

What happened to your "humble opinion"?

From your four comparative players, sorry superstars, that you mentioned on earlier, only Farrell would add to our 17 IMHO and for what it's worth I couldn't give a monkey's about other teams laughing at us. Who are they anyway, Saints and Wigan it's their 'job'? We don't get much grief from Leeds, or Hudd's and the rest....well

LOL. I forgot. Here it is.

In my humble opinion I would rather have

Farrell than Currie.
Tomkins than Hughes.

No the point I was making is that every close season we get this overblown hype of our average players and then the tantrums when it all inevitable turns to poop in the season.

We had an amazing pack in 2011, with brilliant half backs and full back and still didn't win the pot. So we need to aspire to be better than that.

However, Wires71 you are not comparing like with like. Our Farrell, Tomkins, Ablett etc are Currie, Hughes, Westerman (I'm also not bothered if they are home grown or not; "Woolagong or Woolston" anyone?). Our Laithwaite (and I think you traduce him somewhat), B Evans et al are their 18-25 squad players.

We have only just signed 2 of them...the squad players made the 17 this season due to one reason or another. They were not good enough.

In my humble opinion the following are currently way off the standard of a top 4 side. I also do not care whether they are home grown or not.

Laithwaite
King G
Dwyer

Wilde

Remember we need to compare the 2nd rowers with the likes of Liam Farrell, Joel Tompkins, Carl Ablett, LMS. Chalk and cheese.

The forum seems to be full of pre-season hopes and dreams of very average home grown players as if they are superstars. The hopes are soon dashed when, like last season, reality bites.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are not writing them off for good? Even so G King, Brad Dwyer and Ben Evans are very good players already. Dwyer was immense in many games after he returned from London. Ben Evens reminds me of a young Danny Nutley.

Some of these players who are now effectively squad players will now be playing every week in the U23s anyway. The number of players on our roster between the 19s, 23s and senior squad will be considerable.

No not at all. Just not good enough presently to warrant a jersey in the 17 of a title chasing side in my opinion.

Dwyer - immense? Really? I would say the first few games back he was like a breath of fresh air.

I gave you Farrell over no one in particular so he is not part of our discussion, but, Tomkins not for me thanks.

Yes, our team in should have won it and were good enough to win it and yes 'that' pack was amazing and of course we should aspire to be better than that. I'm not sure that the quality is out there, but, think that the club are doing a fair job. Looking back how blessed were we, I just wish they had started this rebuilding process a couple of years earlier, we may not have needed such a large number of players coming and going in one go, making for a more controlled transition.

I also think the club are doing a fair job now trying to fix a woefully poor 2015 pack. 2016 will show if we can bounce back as contenders or whether we are treading water.

I happy. I've ranted on enough about not having a traditional loose.
John Pendlebury type, Westerman is the closest we can get. So I'm happy. Sick to death of the TS prop at 13 teams.
It worked ok while we had the talent of Brett to offset the selection.
