| If poor Mr Powell doesn't understand why Warrington fans are booing then may I respectfully point him in the direction of (Sir) Mike Gregory's autobiography "Biting Back".
On page 46 he writes......
"The Warrington people hadn't had success for a few years, but there's no speccy in the world as good. They are very knowledgeable and appreciative of hard work. What they like is honesty. They want the team to try; if they fail, they fail, but they expect honesty. They know when players don't put it in."
Captain Marvel got us, the Emporer with his new clothes could do a lot worse than read his book.

Today's internet winner.
I'm not some kind of "slapped ar5e", who demands wins every week. Defeats are inevitable. What I won't accept is defeats week after week, and lack of effort. Unfortunately, we're getting that in skipfulls, now.
Attendances will dwindle, and Moran and Middleton are businessmen. Their money (and patience) will only go so far.
Time for Powell and Sheridan to put up and shut up

| Quote MorePlaymakersNeeded="MorePlaymakersNeeded"There's a lack of concentration and a lot of ball watching in our performances, and not enough being in the zone going on. Part and parcel of being a pro sportsperson is being able to concentrate, control what your doing and getting your game flowing, without being distracted by either your opponents, or the crowd. Our performances are a mess this season, and maybe crowd reaction is now a factor, but 15 rounds of dross (with one or two exceptions) accounts for it.
Back to you DP and your staff to halt us going backwards, and to move us forward.'"
I don't think booing the players is helpful but when coaches start talking about this in the media it never ends well. No fans of a team are going to say "we're going to stop booing because we've been asked to". You hear this a lot in football, a manager will say "our fans are the best fans in the world at away games but at home games they boo and put too much pressure on the players" and you generally know that manager is approaching the end of his time at the club.
Players and coaches just need to realise they can influence the fans reaction with their performances. Fans have short memories, you can call it being fickle. I remember early in 2001 there was a really toxic atmosphere in some of the early games at Wilderspool, the boo boys were out in force, DVDV was unpopular, then we played Bradford in a Cup semi and went toe to toe with them for an hour before they pulled away from us. We lost but the stadium was rocking, with the drum and Wire chants, they got a huge ovation. Then in the next few weeks the atmosphere completely turned around. I think we beat Leeds and Saints at home and I remember an away game at the Shay where Gary Mercer was pumping up the crowd after we scored and the atmosphere was electric. That year I remember some of the most raucous intense atmospheres I'd seen as a Wire fan, and a lot of it turned round in that wholehearted effort in a defeat in the Cup semi.

| I don't think there's much worth getting upset over with fan meetings. They are just a token gesture when things aren't going right, and they won't make much difference because there isn't a clear cause or a quick fix to our problems. Best just to lower expectations for the rest of the season and download one of those yoga / mindfulness apps to use until Feb 2023. I would recommend the app that the players use... stick in your EarPods, take deep slow breaths, and stay absolutely still while all your problems (and opposition players) freely float past you without disturbing your inner peace...

| Whatever is said at a meeting it is pretty obvious from the discussions on contracts that are happening now & all the possible transfer talk that we are going to see major changes next year. These actions mean more than any words.

| I think there is a crumb of comfort in that this is probably the nadir of our situation. When you are losing all your matches the only way is up........... although it will probably be next season before we see if Powell can pick the right squad and get them playing half decent footy.
In regards to the booing, I would probably been doing the same ( I have only seen Wire TV replays this year) as I do get a tad worked up at live matches. Trouble is, morale will be at a low ebb and the last thing the coach wants is to make it worse. And of course the booing will affect players like Thewliss, Wrench, Coops etc who are probably giving it their all.

Some folk use a live game of sport as a way of releasing their frustrations at issues, that aren't necessarily RL related. If folk wish to let off steam in that particular way, then I haven't got a problem with it, as long as that's it and it doesn't escalate into confrontation, or violence.

Yep but ... imagine you are a young Warrington born player on the great stage and the Halliwell becomes a seething pit of hissing/booing ... not good. Or you take your son to watch his first game and you are unfortunate enough to see some "inebriated nutter" hurling abuse at his own team ... not good. I wish the person simply "releasing their frustration" would do it in some other way.

Lots of Aboriginal supporters turned up to the match in 4 wheel drive trucks absolutely loaded with “tinnies”

Smiffy, have you read my post? I stated that I'm fine with booing, as long as it didn't escalate into confrontation, or violence. Your post may be misinterpreted by people thinking I'm happy with all sorts of behaviour, which I'm not. If we keep shipping 40 points in a game, then you have to expect that the crowd won't be happy, whether we believe it's a fair reaction or not. Every SL club (and championship for that matter) should have back room staff that educate players, especially those breaking through to the first team, in how to deal with crowd reactions as an ongoing process.

I think with the signings made and signings to come we can see the club realised the pack needed an overhaul, although we all knew the pack wasn't big enough pre season......
Not sure what you mean by being brainwashed? I am certainly not a yes man and will speak up if i am not happy with something.
This season has been a disaster and the club know that, i like the way they are backing Powell to make the changes and fingers crossed we see an improvement.
We were shown a new analytic way that the club are now using to target players, it was very in depth, i did ask how long they have been using this and they said from the end of last season, so lets hopefully in 12 months time be judging that a success

I really wanted the outcome of this meeting to be put out much quicker than this to be honest.
I could relay a lot of it but we as a panel ( not influenced by the club ) has decided to put it out as one statement.
Any questions you have can be directed through the panel for us to ask or you can directly message Karl, he has said he will reply to anyone honestly so long as no abuse is aimed.
