I have never seen a fullback be out of position/missing as much as Dufty. There's a reason he didn't make it in the NRL, it's the same as the reason he's poor for us, he just couldn't be 4rsed!

Totally agree. I remember him being interviewed on tv a month or so back saying that the team needed to defend better, and yes he was right. However, he was one of the main culprits including one ridiculously poor turnstile effort.

Even got called out on Sky at the end, so it’s not just us fickle fans.

I honestly think players who come here perceive us as the equivalent of a Major League Soccer Club where players can get well paid and wind down their careers. If they don't arrive with that mindset, they soon change into the Warrington Wolves Status Quo.



I'm worried about Williams as well who looked totally exasperated in that interview. Quality players have been arriving here for years and most get progressively worse during their stay with few maintaining their form.

When Carney was asking him what’s gone wrong at the club I wish he could have just said and not use the standard answers. What’s the worse that could happen to him only end up at Cas with Austin.

I think we get too obsessed with this. The club (any club) is between a rock and a hard place because if they don't sign players up on contracts early they have a player who spends two or three months mid-season weighing up various offers and potentially losing focus on the job in hand. If they play with something 'to prove' they are just as likely to receive offers from other clubs.



We can reasonably quibble the contract lengths - I'd have given Currie no more than 2 years - but I don't think we should be criticising the club for getting player contracts sorted.

I fully respect Chambers honestly but banging on about the players feelings and family when not once he’s mentioned the long suffering fans who still go through the turnstiles with a cost of living crisis affecting us all doesn’t sit well with me especially when quite a few of them players are on a nice lucrative contract.

Just beaten hands down in the ruck, where is the so called dominating pack that was heralded on here at the start of the season? We were too slow in attack and defence, poor with the basics of the game.

Dudson made 22 metres and took it up 3 times. This waste of space should have his contract torn up.

Vaughan fallen off a cliff.6 carries and 35 metres.

That he was signed in the first place was a big mistake. That he continues to be selected just beggars belief!

Excellent early season, hardly noticeable last night ... I wonder how long before he and/or his family will be 'homesick'?

I think he is trying to put up a bit of a firewall for the players in his defence. First job for him will be go get them lifted up and confident, which you can detect by him singling out a few positives in the press conference rather than focussing on what in reality was a collapse in concentration, particularly from Dufty. He mentioned the call against Philbin which did change the momentum, but didn’t call out the Dufty drop which did it in the first half.



It was quite refreshing, no excuses and genuine answers, even if through a positive filter.

If you go back and listen to the Williams interview he kinda looked sheepish when he asked the fans to keep spending their money.

Indeed but he can't do it on it own. We were mullered in the pack and they had 2 out.

Frightening really that a starting hooker was substituted so soon by the man who was waiting with his bike clips on for his journey to Saints.

I think sorting some of the basic mistakes out will steady the ship & maybe even get a couple of wins if the effort is maintained.

I don't get to go as much as i used to, i think after last night i'm quite thankful. One of the most depressing nights i've spent watching one of my sports teams. Totally abject and embarrassing.

I know it's been done to death on here. But it's astonishing how we've collapsed this year. For the first 8/9 games we were regularly between 6-8 out of 10 and obviously had that winning run. We looked a reasonably good team. If not outstanding. But we were heading in the right direction. Even if we over achieved at the start, our performances gave me enough to think we'd gotten over last year and we'd still pick up regular wins. I was expecting a top 4 finish. Now it's looking likely we'll be part of the bottom 4. It's only for the fact that Salford & Hull KR haven't been picking up any points in the league just lately too. But i can see either of those plus Hull FC and a resurgent Hudds overtaking us in the next month. We're like a baloon that has slowly been let down. I took the defeat to Wigan as a narrow close fought game but even then we went into it favourites. Then we got done but half a Saints team. These were two stand out games i was looking forward to but was left deflated after each one.

We'll probably never find out what the issue has been. Whether it was Mcguire, Powell, Fitzpatrick or bad apples etc.

People are saying we showed effort last night. I think that is clutching straws and maybe naive of many to think just because Powell has gone and Chambers was in charge we were somehow going to turn Catalans over. Only a handful of players showed real effort. The only time i saw a collective effort was when the ref gave incorrect play the ball to Philbin when he was clearly being held back by Cats players. That seemed to rile everybody up and in the next set with smashed them and they only made aboiut 20 metres. But realistically we should be showing that sort of defence from the start. Like Wigan and Saints do. After last night it kinda just feels like the season is over.

A lad behind me actually said ''I'd be happy with 12-24''.... don't really know what to make of that

Considering he arrived in the UK on Wednesday, only had the Thursday training session, and would still have been severely jet lagged, Mikaele looked the ideal foil to Vaughan.



He inspired the team when he came on as substitute.



Brett Hodgson used to play in Super League with his family staying in Aus. long term.



Maybe we could work a similar arrangement with Mikael, his current contract expires at the end of this season.
