I would say everybody has committed a speeding offence at some time. However, I know it's wrong and I understand why the speed restrictions are what they are. If the police feel that Long Lane needs extra vigilance, then good, let them do it. If I get caught, then I'll just accept it.
very true but it is very easy just to go that 2 mph over and only realise when its to late..these people are treated like criminals by the law

I was told there's a 10% tolerance, i.e 33 mph in a 30 zone wouldn't get you a ticket. Could well be a load of cobblers, I concede - it was told to me by some random drunkard in the pub a few months back.

it's true, the reason is because speedo's are not 100% accurate and vary very slightly between manufacturers. So they compensate for it.
Most Police Forces use 10% plus 2 mph. It's a bit like the Breathalyser. The limit is actually 35, but most Forces only charge on 40+.
where did you get that from? the threshold for alcohol roadside is 35, if your near that they will take you to the police station for a follow up test, the roadside test is just an indication that you may need a follow up test and is not admissable in court.
In the ultimate in stupidity I was overtaken by a bloke on a push bike with no helmet on whilst crawling down Long Lane today behind a stream of fecking idiots who have probably read this thread. 20 means 20, not hovering between 15 and 20. 2nd gear all the way, so harmful to the environment it's untrue.
I read somewhere (i'll try and find it) that driving your car in top gear at 50 mph was the most efficient way of driving.
Lets raise it to 50mph everywhere, it'll keep the Greens happy
Or they could come up with a proper public transport system so that I don't have to drive behind idiots who drive far too slowly and have no spacial awareness.
Me: I'm still reeling from the news that someone is considering watching the 1st and 3rd game on Saturday and NOT watching Warrington play. It's like being in Shea Stadium when the Beatles came to town and deciding to nip out for a fag.
knockersbumpMKII: Is it FOOK, you're good but you're not THAT good, jesus you wanky fans need to get over yourselves, Beatles at the Shea in '65 was a once in a lifetime opportunity for some (despite the following years performance), you can watch a very good team in primrose & yellow play every week if you really wanted to but comparing it to one of the very best music groups of all time in an iconic stadia such as the shea is overegging your importance, you're not even the best team in SL atm

This public transport stuff is hocum. I prefer my car because I can come and go when I please. The best public transport system in the world cannot, by definition, give me that. Yes, it is selfish but that is the nature of the universe. An awesome public transport system would help massively, but you'd still get people like me preferring his car.
