Find it bizarre he’s still in role. I remember listening to a podcast with him and he got his chance at Warrington by offering to work for free, can’t knock the work ethic but does he have the skills?
Seems a very insecure individual, seems obsessed with trying to get one over on Wigan (the Matty Ashton signing story, Gelling, Charnley, Nicholson etc) rather than just going out his business professionally. Most of them great signings btw but just going public with weird quotes how they’d beaten Wigan to their signature.
The out of your league podcast he did after the decent start he was making out he was the messiah (with that awful earring). The arrogance was hard to listen to.
He said Josh McGuire was a great leader and would be massive for the culture.
All a bit cringe.
Worst thing about that podcast was the earring he was sporting.
He started at the bottom of the club - an unpaid internship and obviously impressed the BoD as he progressed through the ranks. He also did an MBA along the way so is he qualified? He's as qualified as the guy who runs the UK company I work for, started at the bottom, worked his way up and got qualifications along the way and is now the top man in a $1b revenue company,
I haven't particularly got a strong feeling either way on this, he's got some things wrong of course and if he went I certainly wouldn't lose any sleep, but he's qualified as the BoD have decided he's qualified and has shown enough promise through his time at the club to convince some guys who have very successful businesses that he's the right person for the job.
What would you like his qualifications to look like to get the CEO role at a SL club? Is he better or worse qualified than Mike Rush or Kris Radlinski? They have better results as a club of course, but in terms of qualifications that got them the job? Roger Draper came in with a CV looking pretty good in terms of where he had worked in the past - that didn't work out too well either. I don't see why having a connection with the club would be a benefit in our case.
This is quite correct. The Board of Directors, and majority shareholders, can appoint whomever they like. We don't have to like it.
For all that business acumen and individual wealth of Moran and Middleton, the seasoned guidance of Broomhead, the vision and energy of Fitzpatrick, 1 challenge cup in 11 years is a dismal return.

It's no surprise that performances have declined since his appointment in January 2017. We have won one trophy during his tenure. It simply is not good enough for a team with our resources.
You only have to spend fifteen minutes in the blokes company to realise he is all about the brand and seemingly what happens on the rugby field comes second. He tweeted yesterday after our embarrassing defeat to Wigan about our 1950's shirt and was roasted for it on Twitter. Read the room Karl. There should be an inquest about what on earth has just gone on 24 hours before not tweeting about match shirts, or planning Woflie's next stunt, or Whizzy Rascal's next appearance. I remember being at a fans forum a couple of years ago and him saying he wanted to make us into an American sports team, with pre-match entertainment and it to be all about the day out rather than the game, it's absolute drivel.
Regarding the signings and who signs who, you can dress it up which way you like (Powell signed this player, Karl signed that) but as the CEO he has overseen every signing in the last six years.
The signings of Roberts, Latu, Tasi, McGuire, Mata'utia, Inglis, Pomeroy, Burrell to name a few have been awful. I've said it many of times but until we change who's in charge at the top and replace the powers that be with actual astute clever people who are ruthless and don't accept mediocrity we will never win a Grand Final.
He didn't miss any tackles or drop any passes on Sunday, and according to Powell he was responsible for the signings that did, not KF.
I agree leadership comes from the top, but KF isn't top of the tree and there are plenty above him who should be scrutinising every aspect of the club, including Karl's perfoemance.
Personally, I think we've got bigger issues right now and tbh I don't blame KF for the McGuire fiasco, or for several other problems affecting the performances on the field for theast two months.
Good post, Moz. It pretty much sums up my feelings too. I don't fully know what KF's job entails, so I don't feel able to judge whether he's doing it well enough or not. I certainly don't believe it's as simple as 'results and performances have plummeted, therefore KF is rubbish'.
For probably multiple reasons, and over a period of time, failure has simply become endemic at Wire. It feels to me like it needs some sort of expert, external trouble-shooter to come in and spend time doing a root and branch review of the club's set-up, trying to pinpoint where the issues lie, and how we can begin to overcome them and get out of this rut of under-achievement.
DP's talk of culture change seemed to be bearing fruit at the start of the season, and yet Sunday felt every bit like a 'back to square one' performance (or rather, non-performance).

i've defended fitz(more out of the sake of neutrality than actually defending) on here a fair bit, cos i think he gets a bit of a rough deal, he's an easy target, people want a professional sports administrator, and conveniently forget what a oik uncle rog was when he was here.
People then hark back to wanting gatcliffe back, we were steady with him here but went through lean periods pre tony smiths arrival, and then after 2013's team broke up, he wasn't a magician, also lets not forget the Vape sponsorship he agreed to just before he departed which copped the club a lot of bad press.
People complain about Fitz because he wants fan enagement, social media interaction and as mentioned today, wants to turn us into an NFL/american sports team. Those teams make MILLIONS of dollars, is that such a bad aim? they probably make more money from fans not even turning up (through merch) than we do gate receipts.
People complain about the whizzy rascal and wolfie vids, they're not aimed at us, we're old curmudgeonly lovers, and our fan base(RL and Warrington's) is getting older, they're trying their best to make RL cool for the kids, who can then grow into old curmudgeonly lovers.
He's got to keep the lights on as well as trying to get us to a grand final. The team doesn't exist in a vaccuum.
and just to say again, he's an easy target to have a pop at, one could argue, that this period price and powell has been since Stuart Middleton became a major controlling influence in the club, who's to say whats going on in terms of powell, recruitment etc isn't at his behest?

Seen this a few times over last few seasons, he is trying to get younger fans in etc, ok I get that but us curmudgeonly lovers as you call us what about what we want do we get parked up now because our time is nearly over? I’m not old enough to have seen us win the championship and at this rate could be doubtful I ever will. Anyway just looking at attendances for 11 games and we up avg 2700 up on last season is that because of whizzy rascal or because we were winning games.

Whats his twitter handle, i didn't realise he tweeted?

Crickey that’s dire Shows why we need to hang on to Kirkpatrick, where would we be without the laughs he gives us
