We didn't need to appoint Price early, we got the "new coach bounce" under Tony Smith, when we won 7 out of 7 at the business end of the season.
If that had happened under a new coach, the legend would have grown that they "saved us from relegation" and that would have been counted as credit in the bank for them.
They very nearly made the GF in 2017 a few months into his appointment. Did they lose by 1 point to Castleford I think in the semi.
I don't think appointing Price any earlier in 2017 would have made any difference to our current predicament.
You're probably right, I think they just got the better coach. It's so dissapointing because last season I felt we were definitely heading in the right direction and getting to both finals was a great achievement. I know we have a chance of doing the same again but it just feels like we have gone backwards at an alarming rate this season. Our attack absolutely stinks.
