Any evidence for that offensive statement?

My cousin got pulled over about a year ago and the policeman said (apparently) with a big grin "Hey, new tax year, we gotta start early, look at all these i've got through already" (whilst showing some kind of booklet)
Now, that's what she said and my cousin is a very timid girl, never known her to lie or exaggerate but that cloud my judgment as to what are speed camera's actually for? So IMO they're cash cows.

What is offensive about it? You suggesting that every child that has been hit by a car, the driver was speeding?

The offensive bit is suggesting that a child being killed by a car is somehow partly that child's fault. It might be in some cases, but that's not what your statement says.

Only cash cows if people speed, if you don't speed there is no fine.

You know some people do not realise that pedestrians have the right of way on ALL roads - Period. (I've just taken my bike theory test).

It's been fun.

Cash cow!! Wish they'd concentrate more on catching actually criminals as opposed to traffic offences. The most serious offences of driving without insurance, mot, tax etc are less policed than speeding.
Guess how they caught Peter Sutcliffe aka The Yorkshire Ripper ?
