Jamie, people are allowed to disagree with you and you are allowed to disagree with them. The reason lots of people do it when you talk about Briers is because you are so one eyed in your view of him it's untrue. Yes, he has his faults. Yes, he can be inconsistent. But he has also been one of, if not the, most important players for Warrington for the best part of a decade.

Anyone who can't even acknowledge that Briers has made a positive contribution to our club is either thick, biased or medically insane.

I would say one or two of them are all three.

If you watch the Wigan game again you will also notice or in your case may not notice that he put the ball into the hand of our winger from one of his kicks which led to the try that ultimately turned the game!

Obviously i noticed but this doesn't make him the best thing since sliced bread, players like Dobson, Myler, Long, Sherwin and Pryce do this week in and week out and that's what makes them quality players not somebody who has a flash of brilliance one game and then goes missing for three.

Another thing that never get's mentioned is that Briers gets no flack what so ever for these so called injuries, we all know that we cant ultimately prevent injuries but when the like's of Bridge, Wood, Vinnie and Carvell are injured the fans are on the back, get rid, last chance, we've signed a dud, he's injury prone, yet Briers who i honestly doubt has put a dozen games together seems to go unnoticed.

Perhaps the fact that he has played more games for Warrington than all those players put together, scored twice as many tries for Warrington than all those players put together, has averaged 20 + games per season in the 12 years he has been with the club occasionally goes in his favour

I still feel that there are a lot better players knocking around in his position, people bang on about his kicking game which without being one eyed, a bigot or any other word you wish to use, is so hit and miss it's untrue, watching Boots'N'All last night Stefan Ratchford's kicking game for Salford was outstanding, split the full back and wing man all most every time, good distance and always turned the man around, that's a good kicking game, putting the ball into the hand of the FB is'nt and on most occasions this is what Briers does (watch the Wigan game again).
You made that assessment from Boots n All? How often have they included kicks in their highlights section?

Ive just been out in the garden with My 5 year old son he wanted to do some kicking practice after he finished his session at Crossfields...he could split Platt and Sheriffe with his kicking game......

sometimes credit has to be given to the full back for covering ground...Briers on one kicked aimed for and got the space between Richards and the Right winger, unfortunately Richards covered the ground well and it was always his ball in a 50/50 with his winger so no hesitation, and he managed to take the ball before it bounced...

this is Something Steve Hampson did Brilliantly throughout his career .....or it could have been every kick he ever caught was a poor one.....

its a kicking game significantly better than NRL superstar Mick Monaghan...

incidently John clarke put in the best kick of the game and has done a few decent ones this season too......anyone for Clarke as Briers Replacement....

I think they showed one, maybe two Ratchford kicks to highlight that he is Myler's 'foil'.
