I think that someone should hit Monnas over the head with a baseball bat just before they come out for every game ,the reason being as soon as he gets beat around the head he turns into the player we thought we had signed ,before that he was pretty average imo !

On his way to living a happy life.

Done well to play on from his bang to the head and took his try very well indeed, apart from one rush of blood to the head he was pretty strong in defence, not sure he should have won MOM because Morley was excellent.

I think we are all agreed he didn't deserve MOM but maybe he got it because he scored "the winning" try.

That said, superb defending, couple of great hits

The Monaghan puzzle has got me at the minute. He got MOM yet at the game I thought he was pretty poor, so I've come home and watched it again, and I still think he was pretty poor, yet there's folk I know who think he had a blinder. Don't get me wrong, there's loads of effort, but in terms of craft & guile as a halfback, he still takes too many bad options and runs poor lines for me.

He's better than he was, and some of the good stuff in the second half certainly involved him, but i'm still not really getting it in truth.
My thoughts exactly, I was going to post that but you beat me to it almost word for word!

Monaghan is at his best when he plays direct and goes forward.

Like a quick thinking hooker that likes to make quick, darting runs, his try was more hooker than it was scrum half. He took his try well but i`m sure we wouldn`t have been happy with our defence if we conceded that try, the Wigan tacklers looked weak.

I thought our pack laid the foundation for the win, Morley was excellent as was Gareth Carvell with his improved discipline.

Didn't think Monaghan had a good game to be honest. He scored a good try and did a good tackle but that was about it. Couple of daft mistakes and not really much creativity.

How can I miss you, if you won't go away????

: Sun May 24, 2009 11:07 am
I think its fair to say that the Sky M.O.M award is often a bit of a farce, and often comes down to Stevo just picking out one of the higher profile names on the field, because they have done something individually good in the last 10 minutes leading up to the award being decided.

To give Stevo his due though, he did mention that he could have picked any 1 of the Wire 17, and eventually went for Monas because of his match deciding try....Personally, in a solid, gritty performance like Friday's, a hard working, team inspiring forward should have had the award...

Step forward Adrian Morley.

hello nice to meet you

i think people underestimate the amount of tackles he puts in which takes away from his attacking game.
