I bet as such, the deals were two seperate entities only linked by value, ie, Gleeson to Wigan, £100-120k, Mathers to Warrington £20k, knocked off the £120k, so just £100k. Had Mathers not joined Warrington, It wouldn't have impacted on the Gleeson transfer.
Obviously all values made up. If you think Smith would just 'take a player' that he's not too fussed about having, your daft. Everything he has done since his arrival has been about shaping this team to become 'his team'.
