OK, this thumb thing

- can I include my fingernail if it protrudes beyond the flesh ??
- where is the base of the thumb from which the measurement is commenced ?? (can I go down to the wrist so as to give me a meaningful outcome ?)

Which brings me onto the subject of how do you measure the corresponding appendage ?? There are several starting points, which one do you use ?? Always confused on this one !!

I heard something similar, ponder this one.

If you do an L shape with your thumb and index finger almost like your pointing a gun, the length from the tip of your thumb to the tip of the index finger is well you know the rest.
