Monaghan_says_he_is_happy_at_Warrington

The last two paragraphs make very interesting reading.

Tony Smiths comments sound very similar to those that he made when speculation was rife about Gleesons future.

I think we will get an announcement within the next couple of weeks about monaghans future and maybe a possible replacement.

I thought the same.

During the post match interview when Tony Smith is asked about the 2 week window for Monas to find another club, his reply was "I don't know about 2 weeks", which could imply that it's not a fixed window Monas has.

It seems to be the general consensus that we would be better off replacing Monaghan and I too would advocate this.

But also part of me thinks that there would be no harm waiting till the end of the season to see if he can redeem himself under Tony Smith. There is no reason why he could not rediscover his form and be an important player for us

I'm all but certain that Matt Orford will be here next year, that's been confirmed by 2 people who really should know, but aren't directly involved with the club and can't get into trouble for supplying the information, so I have no problems posting it.

Now I know we've always been lacking a suitable 3rd halfback, but I can't see Briers, Monaghan and Orford in the same squad next year.

Someone must be on their way out......mustn't they?

Only Briers can play 6 out of that trio, so it would definately be Monaghan.

I hope this rumour is true, I'm not a big a critic of Monas as some, but Matty Orford would be a significant improvement to the side.

Someone on the Slaford forum said we are definetly getting Myler. We are going to be class with Orford, Myler, Briers and Monaghan, Bridge can fill in when required.

Leatherbarrow?

You've made it quite clear that you have a hatred for Briers
