A happier King but what about Prince Penny? : Mon Apr 27, 2009 11:24 am
I think the corner has been turned by Kingy after his brief moment of madness of hand gestures and poor form we are now beginning to see the real Matt King in terms of his perfomances and his body language seems to suggest that he is happy at the club. We are now seeing King receive the ball a lot more and utilizing his strengths. Yesterday at Huddersfield he was shouting for the kick from Briers to the in goal, it’s a shame the execution wasn’t there!
But sadly his former 'partner in crime' is languishing in the reserves. Nothing against Johnson, he is solid defensively but he aint a winger, his pace is non existent anymore. And Johnson is far from good under the bomb as the Giants found out yesterday!!! I was watching a re-run of the Penny try v Saints last year in the cup (the one where Monaghan flicked it to Hicks and Penny outpaced Long and Meli!) and thought that no way in a million years would any other SL side not want to utilise his pace. Not many wingers in the world would have scored that try, deffo not Johnson anyway!!! Look at how Saints persevered with Gardner who was a mistake machine in the past but is now Englands first choice winger.
I would like to think that under Smith's coaching we could again see the King and the Prince re-united!
