| Many expect academy players to be ready for Super League from day one. That's obviously crazy. The game lacks a real pathway for youngster and decisions have to be made too soon on their futures. Reserve team rugby (even 21s ) is a must but sadly miles away. I recall going to A team games which were competitive and gave lads a chance to impress. and play regularly. Players can improve once they are 18 but most are lost to the game from all clubs. As always money is the issue but unless something is sorted things won't improve. IMG's proposals may make sense but do not solve this problem. For me the ability to run an 18+ team is vital. Forget loans etc.

Alffi_7:Wires71:Alffi_7:Yeah strange one, low risk obviously but still in my view takes a spot that Thewlis Jnr could have taken sooner. I guess 50% of not very much is still not very much - wont be having a great impact on the cap, and obviously on loan would count as zero if that was the route we went down. Thewlis Jnr does not have a contract for 2026 and beyond as yet according to his brother in the WG. I would suggest that if Ollie does - Jake should! 100% agree - I imagine its in hand. Totally agree about Thewlis Jnr on the limited viewings I've had, he looks like a decent player in the making and one that isn't too far off at that, I must admit to being a bit confused about our Ollie's and our Alfie's reading the posts but not the article Alfie the winger I feel a bit sorry for but it's a tough sport and his performance in the cup game at Widnes would have been very hard for anyone to recover from

| The last 2 former souths teammates burgess has signed have hardly been roaring successes. Maybe he should leave that tactic alone.

| The Alfie signing was basically a Temu version of the Burrell signing and that was disastrous. Gimmicks. When will we ever learn?
I think it was done to pad out a very weak 2025 recruitment haul.

| Honestly signing Alfie doesn't bother me at all, He'll have cost us absolute peanuts and and only 50% on the cap. He has skills and a bit of size so if he works out happy days, if not it's nothing lost. Jake Thewlis i do hope we re-sign as he looks pretty good, him and Josh at Centre and Wing together i think would be a good combo.

| Alfie Johnson is on the same level as the amateur RL players I watch, he isn`t even good enough for a Championship team
