What was going on with Sutcliffe and some fans in the South? Whatever it was, it didn't work out well for him as his performance went form bad to worse and he was stood further and further away from that touchline after each dropped ball.

Just my opinions unless it's a FACT, in which case it's a fact.

Re: Today’s game v Hull FC : Sat Apr 01, 2023 8:50 pm
Probably says it all that we were disappointed with the second half. last season we would have given anything to see the spirit shown today let alone the sparkling attack in the first half.
I know it’s stating the obvious but Williams yet again superb in attack, puts his body on the line. The “dink” for Ben C’s leaping like a salmon try was just sublime.
We seem to be able to attack from anywhere at the moment. Loving it (and yes I know we will lose some atches). When you think of the talent that wasn’t available in our pack today…

That was a totally dominant first. Nobody had a bad game, but I was impressed with Walker's contribution to keep us on the front, by running from dummy half at the line and timing the pass to a support player to gain more yards. Williams was quite rightly MoM, and Ratchford worth a mention in, one on one, shutting down some moves out wide, where we were short of numbers. The second half didn't really matter, as we drew it, after the damage had already been inflicted.

One nugget on Redvee saying we're all crawling back calling ourselves die hards after deserting the club last year, he hates Dufty and thinks he's the worst player/person in the league! Has he not seen Welsby/Lees?! Also says Powell is smug and can't stand how Channel 4 fawn over us? Says we're getting all the reffing decisions and the bounce of every ball. Methinks they're a wee bit nervous! Haven't they had enough of their own share of fawning, love, luck and yes, refereeing decisions for the last four years? Good god they're spoilt brats.

I think I saw more ideas / inventiveness / moves in the first half than I saw in the whole of '22. Powell really seems to have brought the best out of his players and has got them ticking along. No doubt we will have some 'bumps in the road' but he has been an inspired signing so far.

The clown also says we've had it easy with injuries! They live in a world of their own that lot.

Yep they live in their own world. You venture into St Helens and you think you just landed in escape from New York, I keep waiting to see Snake Pliskin.

Most forums are echo chambers, but the warped vision some of the posters have on there is another level. 2 in particular are outstanding…and Saddened isn’t one of them!

And so you aim towards the sky,
And you'll rise high today,
Fly away, Far away,
Far from pain....

I think what is different this season in that he has a group of players who seem to have bought into his plans and who actually seem to be enjoying themselves playing a very watchable brand of RL - Yes, people will say that will obviously happen when a team is winning and that it could easily change with a few losses, but even after winning the first 3 last season, there was a sense that all wasn't well and that Powell was fighting fires within the camp.

This season's side does remind me of Cas from 2017 - very free spirited and a side given licence to play - I think it's massively helped with the professionalism of guys like Vaughan, Drinkwater, Ratchford and Williams, who are bringing out the best in the younger lads. Players like Ashton, Thewlis and Walker look to have matured massively and then you have a x-factor player like Dufty, who provides that unpredictable magic that makes supporters want to come to games and, at the same time, frightens opposition to death.

Of course, we don't know what will unfold results-wise and it might well just be another of those anti climatic seasons trophy-wise, but, personally, if this level of RL and entertainment continues then we, as a fanbase can't really ask for much more - We don't have a god given right to trophies, but we deserve to see some decent RL and this side is finally giving us that.
