Well clearly Smith is only a stopgap until Briers decides he doesn't want to play anymore. Most likely he will ask Lord Hoyle for another 12 months to further try beat the all time points record where Smith will then move to an Australian club and Briers will be installed as new head coach with Harris as his assistant. Because we all know we can't do anything without Briers. Only have to look at last time we actually won anything

With all the coaches he was worked under along with internationals coming in, plus he close relationship with the board and winning mentality.

Surely he is the perfect candidate? Promoting from within as well as being british? heard it here first
