Don't park on the club car park, it's a nightmare to get off. Should probably park on a side street nearby that doesn't need a permit.

Your best bet is to park in one of the side streets just after the railway bridge near the park. Take a left off the A49 when you can (Norfolk Street I think) and then check back on yourself to park in one of the one way streets. CBYQnwIwAQ I normally park before the railway bridge as it's a bottleneck for the traffic and takes an age to get past. It's a bit longer to walk but you still end up walking faster than the cars.
