Right I’ve held of posting for a while but at the minute I feel compelled to, i’ve seen that people are bringing ‘Fu*k the RFL” posters to Castleford and to be quite honest the whole saga is now annoying me. There is one man to blame for the loss of the six points and that is Marwan himself, I could agree that from the outset 6 points does ‘seem’ a little harsh given the previous punishments but without knowing the full facts how can anyone comment? From day one Koukash came in and admitted he was going to break the salary cap, he did it he’s been found out – so time to take the punishment.

Do people really believe that all the disputes with players over the past 3 years aren’t down to him being a cock? Hock / Locke / Theo / TP / Hansen / Chase etc the list is endless. If your employer promised you an extra £ on top of your wages and then didn’t pay you, I can guarantee you’d be wanting to move on to.

How Marwan seems to have escaped all criticism in all of this is beyond me.

The whole conspiracy theory people have about the RFL have it is nonsensical, they probably don’t like MK very much but that’s his own doing for conducting himself in the manner he has done. I agree that the RFL are a joke, the punishments and inconsistency they have in disciplinary proceedings at times is baffling to say the least.

If the RFL hated Salford that much why did they award us with two franchises?

Why did Nigel Wood persuade Koukash to buy Salford and stop us going into administration?

Having said all that this year we finally seem to have turned a corner, and the players are putting the effort in which is all I can ask. Time to stop with all the anti RFL stuff, move on and get behind the team and players. I would rather spend 80 minutes singing about Salford, than 80 minutes slagging the RFL off. Let’s stop playing the victim.

The bottom line is we all want to see Salford succeed so let’s do our best to cheer us on to a victory, and not over shadow it.

Here’s to a win on Saturday and hopefully the road to Wembley!

Very good post, it amazes me how people still have their head firmly buried in the sand when it comes to Marwans accountability for the 6 point deduction. He was the one who signed the contracts and he was the one who knew we were breaking the salary cap.

I genuinely believe since Tim Sheens has come on board that Marwan has learnt his lesson and the proof is in the pudding.

I'm still bitterly disappointed with the RFL though, 6 points is harsh for the two charges we've been done with 1) TP back handed payment and 2) Theo's accommodation. It isn't just about that though either it, Brough's tackle on MCB went unpunished, Dave Taylors horrendous tackle went unpunished and so on. Going back to when we had 14 men on the pitch for a matter of seconds, we were punished far more than previous clubs who had done the same offence.

All our energy should however go into supporting the players on Saturday, but I must admit it is also a great chance to show some displeasure to the RFL.

Good posts. I've criticised Salford/Koukash in the past because I think some of the things he's done are daft and hugely squandered the opportunity he had when he first took over Salford to generate some enthusiasm and media profile around the club.
The best move he's made by a mile is to bring Sheens on board, but I was disturbed to see at the end of the game v Cas to see Koukash in the changing rooms immediately after the game giving a speech to the players. That's not a chairman's job, that's for Sheens & Watson to do. He has to reign himself in even further but fortunately he seems to be improving on that front, with occasional lapses of control.

I say this as a Leeds fan but primarily an RL fan. I think Salford have the potential to be huge and so give RL as a whole a much needed profile boost, so I hope Koukash takes a business-like approach with Salford - employ top people, resource them, motivate them but, crucially, trust them and don't interfere where a Chairman/owner shouldn't and don't treat the club like an expensive plaything.

I understand what you're saying and agree with most of it. We're only guessing as to why he was talking to the players. He could have just been telling them to keep their chin-up. If we don't know the reason why, we perhaps shouldn't speculate. You may be right in saying that a Chairman's place isn't in the changing rooms fullstop, regardless of motivation and maybe you're right on that score.

Well said, I could not agree more! MK needs to stop fueling the fire & stop encouraging a very small section of supporters to believe in the conspiracy theory. I suppose I could have accepted the protest if it had show some intelligence instead of using the F word to make an uneducated assessment.

MK you have a duty to stop fueling the fire or again risk the reputation of our club further.

I think Marwan just likes to be in front of the camera and loves the exposure. I don't think he did any harm this time but it does make you wonder whose idea it was to mike up an owner when on every other occasion it has been players, (apologies in advance if I'm wrong and yes I know Kopjac was miked up) I've only watched it once but did any one else think that in the brief clip in the dressing room none of the players seemed to be taking a blind bit of notice?

Maybe because they'd just been knocked out of the CC and clinically taken to the cleaners by a depleted makeshift Cas side, with a prop and hooker as half backs.

As there is,apparently,no prejudice against the Salford club and Dr Koukash is very wrong to attempt to protect the club from this wrongly perceived,non-existent prejudice,could someone inform me how the 2 'tackles' by Catalan players in France,where no injury was caused and no 'proper' action taken against the offender,differs from the 2 tackles against Batley where Taylor is up before the beak at Red Hall?
