We know Evalds is a young gifted talent, however Gaz O'Brien is playing out of his skin at the minute and it'd be foolish to hinder his form. Evalds will feature no doubt this season, but we've been crying out for consistency for decades so to shift O'Brien for Evalds would be foolish at the present time. Niall might feel a bit dejected rightly so, but i only see competition for places as an healthy headache to have. Niall has to dig deeper to retrieve his place back when the opportunity arises. Its a nice problem to have for a change.

I have to hold my hands up and say I was one to critize at the suggestion that Obrien would play at 1 ahead of Niall, but I have to say it's been a master stroke in having that third pivot to get the ball out wide.
Niall will get his chance and surely he understands that and I'm sure the club are still making him feel valued.....we're also jumping to conclusions he may be injured.
One thing I would say is on Joseph's and Tompkins performances today I would have him up the pecking order but how do you have the luxury of accommodating a three quarter in the subs aswell as a hooker?
