[quote="redgunner" Most disappointing was the few fans who let the club down again, disrespectful to the Catalans song they sang prior to the game & the vile chants being made to a young group of cheer leaders & throughout the game, embarrassed held my head in shame![/quote]
well,I have been trying to put a positive spin on the game not wanting to get into a slanging match with the Reds fans so it's interesting you bring up this point - the vast majority of visiting fans respect the Catalan anthem with only the usual rabble from a certain east coast club offending. It's a pity some people can't show due respect, just for a minute or so the anthem takes to sing but as you say, it was only a handful of your lads who otherwise were great to be around in the bars etc.

You'd hope the club find out who they were and ban them for life as definately not the type of people you want supporting the club.

they were just in front of us, appeared that the sun and the local vino was too much for them, but it is an alarming trend, they are wanabee football hooligans

Report them to the club, we can well do without this kind of behaviour!

You might not be far from the truth there. I remember the Dragons' first game in Super League, at home to Wigan. We sat with the Catalan fans but noticed five lads a few rows in front of us who were obviously well-oiled. No problem with that, we were all there to have a good time. The trouble started during the Catalan national anthem, when they started to whistle and offer up some choice English. The first half was a medley of 'God Save the Queen', 'Rule Britannia'... you get the idea. It wasn't until mid-way through the second half that the Wigan Athletic football songs started. My girlfriend, her brother and I had already moved but we could still see and hear them. They missed the end of the game as they were trying to start a fight with two if the stewards.
This whole football fans at rugby games is a load of crap! I support both and attend both games, football fans aren't even as bad these day it's stereotyping, so get over it people. If rugby fans are so great, what about fighting at Warrington a few weeks ago? remember the Halifax fan getting KO's by some Featherstone fans suppose they where Hull City supporters and maybe Leeds support with the Fev lot. Where British and alcohol are concerned there will always be elements of trouble regardless of what sport they follow! You only need to have a look at some of the documentaries televised these days to gather the British consensus with alcohol involved! Also for you nerd out there I know Iv'e contradicted myself in the post, deal with it

Is the lad who got booted the other week for throwing the plastic glass at the ref band? Don't the club/RLFC have a zero tollerence for this at matches?

they are easy enough to spot on camera with two of them dressed in red skintight gear with the rest around them - it wasn't a major problem just ignorance and too much booze - I saw them after the game and they were great - you can't ban people for enjoying themselves, maybe just try to educate them ...and ask them to show a little respect - it's not exactly a hanging offence !
The Hull lot were worse last year with abuse and aggro after the game thrown in - ruddy hooligans !
