I think I might have more faith in the two Jehovah's Witnesses who knocked on my door this afternoon, than I do in Smithy now - I did ask them who was coming to Salford, but they didn't know either!

Was told today you have agreed to sign Phelps from us. He is OOC at the end of this year and wants to stay. Only he hasn't been offered a contract yet and if nothing does come from us then he is off to you.

I have to make an apology. I have just been told that Sinfield WILL sign for us on a 1 yr contract & then go to the Quinns in 2012!

As said before our Quota/Non Fed spots have already been filled.

It's not often I'm dumfounded but this is truely bizarre, I don't doubt that it's possible we have approached a player of the calibre of Sinfield, I know Smithy's contact and he would have no reason to fib. He was named in the M.E.N. report of the 17th but passed it off as being too far out to believe. If true then it's time to order the Steak Diane's ..

Ledge, most people would ask why in hell Sinfield would want to come to Salford , Why in hell would he use us as a half way house to go the Stoop.

We could be the recipient of one great wind up , but at least it's given us some entertainment and for some the chance to dream.

If there was a plan to go the press today,maybe it's been put off as it isn't a day for good news..

Kevin sinfield?? Its a big shout smithy especially "coming out" with it before anything official.

I hope your right btw, loose forward, pair of hands, leader, big name player with the ability to turn a game in his teams favour.

I dont like the whole 1 year contract thing, whats the point?? I just hope his body aint shot after a great service @ leeds

We shall wait see if it comes in smithy, like in matches big plays in matches by big players creates legends

So who is the judas? When you announcing that?

If we have indeed signed Sinfield I will be very impressed as he is a player I've always admirred, the only caviat I would place on it is if he is being cut by Leeds because he is shot?, he still regularly cuts it in a top 4 team week in week out and frankly can't see why he would come to Salford. Then the statement that he is coming for a year then off to London has got to be wide of the mark as a player of his age wouldn't be offered that kind of deal so far in advance.

I think he is a ready made 2nd hooker and loose forward cover all rolled into one and he is without doubt one of the best kickers in the league.
