But wouldn't a fine for Huddersfield by merited? You make out that they're an innocent party, but the various reports I've seen suggest that poor stewarding/lack of police presence were a key contributing factor.

With all due respect, you shouldn't need any more stewards or police at a Rugby League match.

The matter was looked at by the disciplinary -
DETAILS OF CHARGE / REASON FOR NF : Player makes direct contact to leg of opponent. Contact is forceful but is made to the back of the knee consistent with the natural range of movement.
DECISION:No charge
INCIDENT:Dangerous Contact in the 52nd minute (Caton-Brown)

Nothing wrong with the tackle then.

My only issue with Huddersfield was the way which they covered the bottom seats in the stand meaning the only access to the players after the game was via the stairway. In rugby league and especially with Salford, the fans always congregate down to the bottom of the stands to congratulate the players and this certainly added to the chaos.

As do most fans, it's never been a problem before. As most fans make their way down sensibly and don't try to throw objects and themselves into the pitch.
I don't see what difference not covering it would make- unless you are suggesting that people would climb over the chairs - which surely would add to the chaos.

I presume you are a full time housewife Jools with a bit of time on your hands. My apologies then for the late response and not checking the Decision. However I find it hard to understand your obnoxious comment `Nothing wrong with the tackle then` as you will have seen MCB in great pain and a complete passenger for the rest of the match.

Baloo should `throw the book` at Danny Brough but of course the opposite will happen. Talk about Double Standards.

If those covers weren’t on the seating, it would have prevented the extent of the crush that occurred. The stewards had to open the emergency exits to prevent them getting crushed against the barriers because there was nowhere else to go. Of course if the balloons hadn’t started pushing and shoving it wouldn’t have been as bad but Huddersfield need to look at those measures, as they contributed to the chaos.

Early Bath- you came onto the Giants board full of indignation at the perceived cannonball tackle - you named me specifically demanding I make comment. I said I hadn't seen it and would check the disciplinary- which I have. An independent panel have checked the incident, they've looked at the extra camera angles they have and decided there is nothing wrong with the tackle and issued no charge. Just like the decision they made regarding a similar tackle they looked at made by Tomkins on huby. So would you be "throwing the book" at Tomkins for a legitimate tackle?
As for the misogynist housewife comment- you've just shown your true colours. :BLAH:

Sad preacher nailed upon the coloured door of time;
Insane teacher be there reminded of the rhyme.
There'll be no mutant enemy we shall certify;
Political ends, as sad remains, will die.

Re: Fighting : Wed Mar 30, 2016 12:27 pm
Although I was there, I was too far away to see what started the fracas. I have waited to read witness reports and another matter concerns me: if there were issues between immature actors and fans trying to contain the immaturity, will this be obvious in the viewing of the video evidence? There seems to be witch hunt to identify culprits: what of otherwise innocent persons caught up in the matter and defending themselves?

Re Huddersfield: I spoke to a family who sat close to the fracas and they commented some of the young fans had been able to buy alcohol in the ground without proving they were 18 or over. Is this true, Jools? If it is ... Huddersfield could be found guilty of breaking several rules and laws.

The lad who ran on to the pitch was drinking a pint. I commented to my missus pre-match that he looked about 14 years old, and wondered how he'd got away with buying it.

Two wrongs do not make a right but Dewsbury v Batley seems to have had a fracas as well ... must be the West Yorkshire water?
