I hope that Watson isn't going to sign a load of championship players like last season. i don't think any of them made it. They have all gone back to the lower divisions.
I stand to be corrected
Overall I was happy with last seasons recruitment :-
a mix of proven SL experience - Kopzcak - Josh Jones -Flanaghan .
SL squad players wanting more game time - O'Brien. Joseph.
overseas players that added bulk & aggression - Murdoch Masila - Lui - Carney
opportunity for a step - up for some of our younger squad who contributed - Wood - Bibby- Lannon
and lastly a mix of championship / season loan players to provide cover - Sarsfield haggerty Andrade.
Of the signings I guess Joseph was the only 'head scratcher' , & Vidot had a mare with injury blighting his 1st season
so we Had Vidot - Lee - Johnson - Wood- Hauraki & Carney injured for major parts of the season.
Re Championship signings , I thinks its still a gamble that Watson needs to take - OK only Sarsfield was used, but for the money it's still a good bet it they come good.
I wood except 2 or 3 more , with Brinning being mentioned for some time
unfortunately with Salford being dragged firstly into the qualifiers & finally the relegation decider , most of the squad's players agents will have enquired or set up deals for their charges in case they became free agents or surplus if we fell into the championship.
This will mean a fair few ' rumours ' will continue & possibly may have ' turned the heads ' of a couple of players who may still fancy - 'out '.
Not going to speculate on who may come or go , but will continue to have faith in Watson's judgement , he's seen us through two qualifiers & if not for the points deduction would've given Salford the best league finish since Harrison .
If they want to go - let them go - If they're coming in , give them the opportunity to prove they're worth wearing the scarlet .
