I can imagine the Wakefield team would feel the same way if they knew you used be a Wakefield fan posting as "Waketrin Wild". Or should I call you "TwoBlues", instead? Of course, I may have missed the explanation as to why you're now watching Salford in which case I do apologise.

They haven't though. To sit in the seated stand at KR was £25, unless you bought in advance of match day in which case it was £23.50. To stand at KR was £20, unless you bought in advance in which case it was £18.50.

A couple of responses. Firstly, Saints have been taking up the seats. Almost all our allocated seating is now taken up by season ticket holders. The bit you are going in is one of the unallocated sections of the North STand which has been put aside for your use, meaning Saints fans won't be able to take those seats. Secondly, there was an issue following our friendly against Widnes whereby some dumb Saints fans decided to switch stands, overloading one end of the West Stand. The H&S bods have not taken kindly to this and as a result (a) Saints have made the West Stand season ticket holders only (a lower number than the stand's capacity) and opened up the East Stand to Saints supporters to compensate, and (b) closed off the continuous concourse.

I believe moving Salford fans was done following a discussion with Salford club who will have understood (a) the challenges in opening up a new stadium and (b) the fact that Salford never bring more than a couple of hundred fans even though they are just a spit away down the East Lancs Road. Sure, Salford fans could have been put in with Saints fans but (a) most away fans want to be together and (b) we still have to earn our capacity and crowd management is clearly one aspect holding us back thanks to the Widnes game (our capacity has been restricted to 17,200 as a result of that game).

It is sad that some Salford fans are taking the attitude they are taking but it is nothing new and only your team will suffer.

On the thread on your forum you agreed that if Salford fans were moved from the cheaper terrace to the seats due to the reasons above, they should still pay the cheaper price. I'm intrigued to know what has changed your opinion?

As for us only taking 200, it may be poor, but only on a par with failing to sell out ticket allocations for grand finals that are just a spit away down the East Lancs Road.

As you know its a lot more expensive to go to OT for a grand final (oh maybe not) so some people can not afford it also with our recent history at OT (for whatever reasons) many people (understandably so) didnt want to go , but to compare that with only bringing 200 to a brand new stadium and having the honour of the first superleague game there seems strange , I have always enjoyed watching Salford and usually enjoyed my trips to the Willows your fans are passionet and welcoming , but they seem ground down with a lot of negativity which given your new stadium seems odd

Presuming 'KR' stands for Knowsley Road that surprises me. Especially as I don't recall missing an away game at Saints for about 12 years (for which I was entitled to a concessionary ticket for most). Happy to stand (or sit as the case may be) corrected. :)

Regardless, the present price is too high for me at the moment.

Comparing attendance at a Grand Final to a match against a team we haven't beaten away for 32 years.

It must be difficult watching your team battling it out to become league champions for so many consecutive years :(

I wasnt comparing , i was replying to another poster who was the one who mentioned the GF , personally I am not fussed how many you bring, you will be welcomed and I hope you enjoy the night , as it IS a big event for us, and to be honest if you followed Saints in the 80`s, early 90`s , you know exactly how Salford fans feel

I haven't explained.
As I'm off to St Helens now I'll pm you tomorrow,or Sunday.
Remain neutral and non-prejudicial in the meantime - I'm of the opinion Salford fans always look to the worst
case scenario and lowest common denominator.
Well done on your background research thus far. :ROCKS:

Them's the price of the tickets mate. If I want to sit in that stand I would have to pay that price too, why are you expecting away fans to get special treatment.

We would have put you in the East stand but you are not going to bring enough fans for that to be your exclusive area. Still if you don't want to sit buy a ticket for the East stand for £18.50 (Saddened even provided a link and instructions) you are more than welcome to go there. We are a friendly bunch you can stand next to us. Hull FC (for example) would charge you at least £24/£25 to go on the end.

We would have put you North Stand but that has been almost sold out to season ticket holders (as has the West), so there is not a free block of seats for you. So we have given you a block to yourselves over in the South. It may not be ideal but it is the only place that you can all sit together.

Hope you all can make it along tonight it will be good to see you there.
