so what was all the 'ho har' about flying the balls to some air base if they had already done the draw says it will be shown on bbc northwest this evening.

Skybet was just some daft bet as to which two teams would randomly get paired against each other. Bookie only offering 13-1 for Batley v Salford. Correct odds for Batley to play Salford should have been 14-1, so that's where Skybet make their margin.

yes but they shut down the betting over half an hour before the event took place stating it had already taken place, thats what made it interesting.

plus with 16 teams in it the change of getting another team is 15 - 1 I would have thought

Nah! The chance of any one team being paired against a particular team out of the other fifteen teams, is one chance in fifteen, which in bookies' terms, is odds of 14-1.
