If Sale are coming I think it will happen. I'm sure rugby union clubs must have a minimum 15'000 capacity for the later stages of Heineken Cup fixtures. I can't see the stadium management company or the catering contractors wanting them to play these fixtures somewhere else.

Why spend all the extra money then now on the foundations for phase 2 & 3 if they have no intention of doing it? What a waste of money that would be. Perhaps they intend to expand it in 2-3 years time when they sell off or rent out the future retail?

Depend how big an impact the new stadium has on crowds and the success of the club.
Warrington have shot up to 10-11k averages with a succesful team as a result of the new stadium.
If this happens to Salford then maybe it will need to be expanded slightly. Can't see phase 3 happening though, that would make a fantastic stadium though!

I disagree with your view.
We should be thankful that we have the stadium that is being built after the problem with Red City Developments and I also think that it is a good move on behalf of Salford MDC and Peel Holdings to build phase one, first to ascertain what crowds we achieve in the first two/three seasons, and progress with phases two and three if and when they are required.
It's not just the supporters that need to be convinced that the new stadium is a viable proposition but also the council tax payers and the other investors(Peel) and I for one (who initially wanted to stay at the Willows) am looking forward to taking my seats in the west stand in 2012 season.

| Quote king of the shed="king of the shed"67 or 100 from Hope to Eccles for me, a few lively slurps in The Lamb/Wetherspoons/Nags Head/Oddies/Top House/Old Bulls Head/Duke of York/Albert Edward/Town Hall then 67 to the Grapes onto the Unicorn and then stagger (If still capable of standing) to the ground, just a thought
'"
Sounds like the perfect match day experience
Recommend the Hydes Bitter or Hydes Black in the Town Hall at £1.40/£1.45. Were 10p cheaper but went up in the budget
The Youngers Bitter is a decent pint in the Nags Head and Albert Edward and Lamb are well worth a visit
Duke of York has had to close temporarily, well hopefully it will be reopening anyway.

Mate of mine is a land lord down there and he was saying that it is the main roof support joist?? that's in real danger of bringing the whole building down, looks like it will be shut for a while.
Got to be getting yourselves in the Weathers for the Polish bottled beer and the lush caramel liquore with diet coke (tastes just like a coke floater if anyones ever have vanilla ice cream in coke before).
Still say that Eccles RL are missing a trick with their bar and that cut through near the pitches that brings you out the other side of the motorway. Bit of investment and then a small annual membership and you'd in the cloest drinking hole to the ground and also putting much needed money into a local team.

| Thinks it's high time some of our ' beer experts ' got together to vet the Barton area hostelries ( purely for ressssearrch purposes ).
Bet the guys who flattened the Airport Hotel are having regrets.
not been drinking round Eccles/ Patricroft / Barton for some time so half the places have probably closed, but Liverpool st used to have alot of pubs.
The Bird In Hand
The Jolly Carter
The Packet House
The Dutton Arms
The Grapes
The Unicorn
don't know of any closer than these

I had an extension built last year and due to building regs had to have the land piled, an extra expense at the time I thought I could do without, however if I ever decided to increase to a double extension (single is what I wanted) all I need to do is take the roof off and build the second tier, (the rest is already in place) get my drift ??
If ever there is a waiting list for tickets they may raise the roof but I wouldn't hold my breath.
We have got the original box peel promised 10 or so years ago, when we opted to go it alone and build an "Iconic Stadium"
